Casual Notes for Casual Conversations from URSA Gallery Nov. 8th @ 9am

It was the first gathering last Saturday at URSA, on Fairfield Avenue, and

also the first CCC meeting after the election. Comments focused on the

civil service changes that can improve process, making it more efficient and

understandable; on the Ethics Commission and staffing for review and

enforcement; on the City Council steps towards empowerment; and the fact

that all parts of the Charter Revision were approved as presented to the

Council and even though split into two questions, was approved by the

majority of the voters.

Of course, there was no overall significant gain in voting by registered

members of the public. A study of what happened in each District was

discussed to see what happened with signage, knocks on doors, phone

outreach, and seeing grassroot activity.

Attend a gathering. There are two scheduled in November and likely two

sites, and times for December. No agenda. No minutes. Questions that you

wish you had asked in the past but rarely have done. Spark the curiosity of

others who listen to you when you share
