Have you heard much about the local election on
November 4, 2025? There are 10 Districts with
candidates from a variety of parties knocking on
doors to seek your informed vote or answer
questions about City issues. There are also many
yard signs favoring candidates, parties, and possibly
providing real info about value issues and policy
statements they feel strongly about.
Did you know that the Charter Review Commission
completed their work in August and then the City
Council approved of what will appear on the ballot?
But who favors the changes from the 1993 Charter
currently in place? Thirteen members of the diverse
Commission did so unanimously; and then a majority
of the Council approved the revised document as
well. But where is any notice to the public about the
Charter questions from the Mayor, Communications
Office, or Council members?
How many people will actually vote? Will they
approve of the Charter changes? Time will tell.
